Inspirational Leadership

Organisations value leaders who can combine strength, presence and inspiration to deliver high performance. When change is constant, and pressure and challenge are a natural part of the atmosphere, the inspirational leader is the exemplar whose courage keeps people’s belief alive, and whose focus ensures that targets are achieved.

Leadership is becoming devolved through empowerment. Leaders are accountable for giving away leadership to the best person for the job in hand. So more people are becoming, and need to become, leaders.

Because our faculty is rooted in the arts and humanities, we are able to show leaders in science and business how the power of the imagination can see possibilities, how the power of the word can show others the way to realise them, and how human relationship can bring strength and affirmation to the process.

One client brief reads: “we want to unleash the power of a greater number of people; help them get grounded, tap their power, put voice to the power, and help them learn to influence and build confidence.” Using a model of Presence, Connection, Authenticity and Courage, we take them on a journey that helps them discover how to realise their ambition.

Another client has identified ‘inspirational engagement’ as a critical leadership essential.

They have also identified a large gap in their ability to find it and use it. They have turned to our Arts and Humanities experience for help in understanding how to paint the picture and communicate why it matters to them.

A third client brief asks us to help talented people, with an appetite for accelerated growth, to deepen their awareness of their potential and apply it to changing the culture of their organisation. They know that they can only do this by developing their communication and their willingness to become powerful influencers of the system. We help them understand power as a positive, to learn from others who have effected great change in the face of resistance, and to put their understanding and learning into action.

Imagination, authentic words that persuade and inspire with integrity, relationship, and an ability to sail a lonely boat in a shifting wind, these are the skills that inspirational leaders must draw on. They will need courage to speak the truth, and courage to step beyond their own instinct for self-preservation.

Our powerful synthesis of performing arts, philosophy and psychology  encourages each participant to ‘take their own stage’, and review what is important to them, and what they really want to stand for. Our clients don’t want half measures or solutions: they want to invest in an experience that can improve and potentially transform how an individual leads.

"The transformation in the group dynamics has been phenomenal. Everyone is now passionate, committed, sharing, and there was amazing innovation and creativity. The acceleration of this is due, I am sure, to The Inspirational Leadership Workshop."

The Corporate Theatre processes are designed to help people lose their ego. They bring the arts and skills of inspiration to leaders by taking them into workshops where they can rehearse them: we find how to create the energy needed to integrate Doing, Thinking and Being. We discover how to get ready and stay ready to give and receive inspiration.
